Hi Velvet friends,
Wow! It’s hard to believe, but Velvet Eyewear is celebrating 25 amazing years! I can still remember our very first trade show in September 1999 in sunny San Diego—it feels like a lifetime ago, yet also just yesterday. What a journey it’s been since then!
Aside from my family, Velvet has been the one thing that’s kept me focused, inspired, rewarded, and, yes, even challenged. It’s been my passion project, my dream, and my joy. But let me tell you, it hasn’t always been easy—there have been plenty of ups and downs along the way. Yet, through it all, Velvet has remained a constant in my life, and I wouldn’t trade this ride for anything.
So much has changed over the years. When we first started, the internet was barely a thing, and now everything’s mobile and instant. I’ve gone from waiting weeks for hand-made prototypes to printing them in minutes, from hopping on planes for far-away meetings to connecting over Zoom from anywhere. It’s wild to think about how different the world is now, but through all the change, one thing has stayed exactly the same: our Velvet customer.
You, the Velvet women, have always been at the heart of what we do. You’re fearless, fashionable, and unapologetically yourself. You’ve trusted us to help you express your style, and that means everything. Whether you’ve been with us since day one or just discovered us, I can’t thank you enough for your support. You’re the reason Velvet has made it 25 years, and we’re so grateful for you.
As I reflect on all the memories, lessons, and growth, I’m filled with gratitude. This journey has been more rewarding than I could have ever imagined. We’ve faced challenges, celebrated successes, and adapted to change—but most importantly, we’ve done it together. And that’s what truly matters.
Here’s to 25 years of Velvet Eyewear and to many more ahead! I can’t wait to see what’s next, and I’m so thankful to have you with us for every step of the way.
