On April 25th in Los Angeles, something meaningful unfolded at iHeartRadio during the I Choose Me Live 2026 event led by Jennie Garth. Women gathered to celebrate self-love, confidence, and inner strength—and what emerged was more than a moment. It was a shared reflection. A quiet shift in perspective.
When we were first asked to support the event and saw Gabby Reece’s name attached, it was an immediate yes. We’ve always admired her strength, her presence, and the way she shows up with clarity and intention. It felt aligned before we even arrived.
Jennie Garth’s new book, I Choose Me, is not about dramatic reinvention. It’s about something more honest. It’s about returning to yourself. After years of navigating life in the public eye—career, motherhood, change—her message centers on a truth many women eventually arrive at: choosing yourself is not a departure from who you are. It’s a return.
What made this moment different wasn’t spectacle—it was connection. Real conversations. Shared experiences. Women recognizing pieces of themselves in each other. The kind of energy that doesn’t need to be amplified, because it’s already understood.
We came into the event simply wanting to give. Every gift bag included two pairs of our Ruby style—each in a different color—tucked into a tri-fold faux leather case. Something thoughtful. Something new. Not the expected aviator. There was no strategy behind it. Just instinct.
And then—something happened.
When Jennie walked on stage, I had to pause. She was wearing a frame that was almost identical in shape to the Ruby. Same silhouette. Same proportion. Same quiet confidence in the line. But hers were clear—prescription, not ours. I actually did a double take. Zoomed in. Looked again. For a moment, I thought—did she create a custom pair for this? She didn’t. But the alignment was undeniable.
When something is right, it shows up. Independently. Naturally. Without coordination. What are the chances?
That moment said more than any plan could have. It wasn’t about product. It was about understanding that when design is grounded in proportion, balance, and real women’s features, it resonates—not because it’s trending, but because it works.
We spend so much time adjusting—to roles, expectations, timelines. But rarely do we pause and ask: what actually works for me? That’s what I Choose Me invites. Not transformation for the sake of it, but alignment. Choosing what fits your life now, your energy, your next chapter.
At Velvet Eyewear, everything begins with one idea: when something fits, everything changes. Not just visually, but emotionally. When you see yourself clearly, you move differently. You choose differently. That’s why this moment felt so natural to be part of.
You don’t always plan alignment. Sometimes, you recognize it. And when you do, it stays with you.
Because when you choose yourself, everything else begins to fall into place.
